I don’t know about you, but I can’t always keep up.
Which companies have done or said something that goes against what I believe? Which CEOs have been problematic or maybe fund causes I support? Which of the 12 upcoming events should I attend? Which of the dozens of nonprofits I see as important should I donate to or volunteer with?
How much is enough?
It’s exhausting. And honestly, it feels like we’re set up to fail. There is no way to remember every consideration when making simple choices. And I can’t keep Googling everything before I act. How do we even remember it all? Does speaking up about one issue negate all the other issues we didn’t mention? Do we need to include a disclaimer every time we try to help?
To move past that fear we need trust in each other and the process. Let’s grow together with compassion, leading with grace. By assuming the best about each other and offering grace along the journey, we make space for growth instead of letting fear stall our progress. Still, it’s tempting to hold each other to an impossible standard.

There’s something in our ego that is fed when we get the chance to say “Ugh! How is it you don’t know about…?” It takes a lot to break out of that mindset and remember we are all learning in different ways and on a different timeline.
Maybe we start with what we can actually do, allowing mistakes to be made along the way. If all we can manage is our regular day plus one mindful, good choice we otherwise wouldn’t have made, it’s still a step forward. Let’s allow that to be our start. Some good actions may stick to form habits. Others may not be possible in our personal reality. I give myself the grace to accept this as a part of my own journey. I hope you can give yourself that grace as well. It is freeing.
So here we go. Let’s choose one small good to offer the world today, and trust that it matters.
