I have some amazing people in my life. At the very top of this list is of course my husband, parents and siblings. And honestly, although I’ve known some of the most fabulous people on the planet, very few friends come close to my family, because family is forever. Not because they aren’t great, but because I’ve seen so many people come and go. Distance, life and time draw people apart easily. I see almost everyone around me as here for a time.
Day 20: Value and celebrate those who are around you, no matter how long they’ll be there. Today one of my oldest friends turns 30. Other than realizing he’s old (and I still have so many years before I’m super old like he is), I look back at what a fabulous friend he has been. Our childhood adventures were short-lived as we both kept moving. Yet he was still always there. He was one of the few people who thought I was cool enough to spend a whole evening chatting with on the phone, even in some of the hardest moments of my life. He is one of the people who made me who I am today. He is one of very few friends that will always be forever.
Its been an awesome 30 years so far. I hope your next 30 are even more groundbreaking. Happy birthday Jeffrey Paul!
