As we approach our one year anniversary, one of the lessons we have learned is this: It is very hard to surprise the person you live with and share finances with. We have come to the point of sharing ideas of gifts and just yelling “surprise” for added effect. The added difficulty shouldn’t be an excuse to stop trying. But there is good even in this. Maybe you can’t surprise your spouse, then you get the joy and anticipation of planning together. So that’s what we’re off to do tonight, plan and dream together the great “surprises” we’re planning for each other. As the saying goes, two heads are better than one!
